FAQ
What are the Differences between the NO-Canbus - Single Relay, Canbus - Single Relay, and the Canbus - Dual Relay Upgraded EKPM board?:
- NO Canbus - Single Relay: The NO Canbus version activates the relay when the 15_WUP (ignition-on wire) is powered. This version is considered an EKPM delete/bypass due to the lack of canbus support. You will have active error codes because the ECU will not see that you have an EKPM installed.
- Canbus - Single Relay: The single relay version has a switched ground wire to insert into your stock EKPM connector to trigger an additional external relay. If you are only running one fuel pump, this model is recommended.
- Canbus - Dual Relay: The dual relay version has a second relay built in and a plug-and-play wiring harness to hook up a secondary fuel pump. If you are running or will be running two fuel pumps in the future, then this model is recommended.
How Do I Configure a Secondary Pump (Dual Relay): You will need to go to https://speedsty.com/pages/ekpm-upgraded-board-configuration-and-firmware and download our EKPM Upgraded Board Configuration and Firmware tool onto a laptop. You can use a K+DCAN cable or the orange MHD adapter.
Is There Wiring Required?: There is no wiring required. The single and dual relay come with a plug-and-play switched ground wire. Additionally, the dual relay comes with a plug-and-play harness for a secondary pump.
Does the EKPM Upgrade Board Require Coding?: No coding is required unless you want to configure the secondary pump trigger (dual relay version only). All of our boards come ready to be installed out of the box.
Will the EKPM Upgrade Board Keep Itself Cool?: Yes, the main reason we created the EKPM upgrade board was because of the OEM EKPM overheating. The upgrade board will have no issues with staying cool.
